Detailed description

Energy Efficiency

The usage of automated functions already save energy in every installation. Especially the usage of KNX has a lot of potential for further energy savings, which can contribute to a better environmental footprint. Be extending KNX to more functions and applications, energy savings of up to 60% can be realised. Thanks to the flexibility of KNX, these functions can easily be implemented in this installation

Innovation

Smart homes and buildings are always an upgrade in comparison to a conventional installation. Not only automated functions and a higher level of comfort contribute to a higher living standard, but also the possibility to be ready for coming innovations. Thanks to the usage of KNX, the door has been opened to integrate new innovative solutions, using the worldwide STANDARD for home and building control.

Customer's description

The Army SLA and Defence Estate Optimisation (DEO) Army Programmes will deliver around 16,500 SLA bedspaces over 10 years. Reds10 was appointed to deliver >1200 of these in the next 2 years. The recently completed pilot building, which is based on KNX technology and will be replicated across future estates, is one of the most advanced buildings in Europe for SMART building control. The 3-storey building was constructed using MMC with units arriving on site up to 90% complete. Key characteristics: BS EN ISO 52120: Class A, DREAM: Excellent, Smart Readiness Indicator: >95%. Data points: 20,000 per building, Naming convention: BRICKS Schema KNX applied throughout: HVAC, DHW, Leak detection, Lighting, EMS/Trends-Advanced Metering, Influence user behaviour (Gamification), Modbus, BACnet comms, Alarm Console/GUI, Cloud communication (MQTT), VLAN configuration, PV & battery storage integration, Multi sensors (lux, presence, virtual hold, decibels, humidity, temperature, VOC), Touch screens.
