As IKEA believes in the principle of global standardisation, KNX was choice of automation protocol. It being a retail store with different kinds of areas, it had its own lighting requirement Quality of light in every area had to be maintained. Realising Visual Aspect of lighting was very important for 1) to highlight architectural elements, product quality & creates virtual spaces 2) Enhances customers mood and overall shopping experience 3) creating pathway and visual aspect of safety & Comfort for customers. This being large format store, the biggest challenge was to design KNX LCMS System of such massive space. Different kinds of lights required different lighting modes in all the areas. Some areas in the store had BUS DUCT trunking and devices had to be installed in these ducts. LCMS has the capabilities of stand-alone operation with full automatic functionality. It is interfaced with BMS and also give remote control on Mobile & also provide future upgrade.
